I got this movie from the library on the recomendation of a fellow reviewer. The DVD laid around my apartment for about a week before we put it on, not knowing what to expect.  i could go on andton about comparisons with american movies or explaining the genres and cultural commentary, but that is not what I am all about.  What I will say is that it was one of the most enjoyable 3.5 hours I have spent in quite a while.  I have also been compelled to show my favorite scenes to apartment visitors and bring it to someone elses house to let them experience Lagaan.  My wife downloaded some of the songs and I have had many stuck in my head, despite the fact that I don’t understand a lick of the lyrics.  Not to raise expectations too much.  Note I didn’t give the film a super high rating because it didn’t blow my mind or anything like that.  It is just really fun.  And there is some ridiculous chorography.

I still can’t believe the likeness between Nate and Bagha. Incredible.

Attaboy, Nate! you’ve finally sampled your first bit of Bollywood. It’s an acquired taste, wouldn’t you say?
