I feel like this summer is the last great hurrah of Harry Potter. Even if Rowling comes back with some more stories, I can’t imagine they will be good enough to match the NOWness of coming out with a movie and the final book within three weeks.

I thought this movie was pretty good. Lots of angst, but they did a nice job of making Umbridge very distasteful, Luna a little odd and made some of the wizarding very spectacular. There was a lot left out, but nothing that really detracted from the story. I appreciate that he kept it under two hours.

This is a flawed movie. The plot is absurd and they spend way too much time in big rooms with generals. I thought they spent way too much time on the hacker/virus plotline, but the part where the DDR cousin crashes through the sliding glass door was one of the favorite part of one of my students so I guess someone liked it. But while I was not excited enough after watching it to run home from the theater, I do keep looking out for the autobot cars and wondering what it would look like if they transformed. That, ultimately, is why I not only liked this movie, but why I would watch it again. The awesomness of the robots overwhelmed the other lame parts of the story. I just wished they spent more time with the robots interacting with eachother.
